No definitive outcome on Barry's “Holdover Poll” but I thought I would put up a “Holdover Post” now for all those keeners out there. Post your holdovers in the comments section below (after you login!!!) so we all can get a better idea of who will be available come draft day. As Greg has previously posted the rules are as follows:
1. NHL salary cap is now $50.3M. Superdraft 2007 salary cap will be $47.5M.
2. Holdover rules restrict each team to two (2) top 50 players from last season. The cut-off for last season is 68 points. You may keep only two (2) players with 68 pts or more. You may not holdover a player two (2) years in a row.
No official deadline for getting your holdovers in (the sooner the better) but sometime on or before the Sunday September 23rd would be nice. That would give everyone sometime to figure out their draft strategy before the 28th.
No offical day on the draft as far as I know - but Friday the 28th seem like a safe bet.
