The Incredibly Intriguing Race

It's going to be an interesting race down the stretch:

Creepy - 112 - Crosby, Hossa

FMJ - 109 - Malkin, Gonchar, Lidstrom, Hudler

Stadnicky - 105 - Whitney, Zetterberg, Holmstrom, Rafalski

Iffy - 102 - Sykora, Malone, Datsyuk, Franzen, Samuelson, Cleary, Kronwall

Followed by 2 other "yoosers" with zero players remaining.

What follows is my prediction for the race:

This chart is based on projecting the current points achieved per game played for the remaining players. Rounding is used for each player's projection.

My conclusions:

1. Sweet Irony - The only way Creepy can win is if his beloved Penguins get swept. His win depends on HosCros combining for 8 pts over the next 3 games. Let's assume that the Pens get on the scoreboard for now.

2. Vewwy Vewwy Toight - If it goes 4 or 5 games, it will be a very close race. We are probably looking at splitting the take. If it goes beyond 5, its either FMJ or Iffy. See next point.

3. Franzen - If Franzen is truly healthy, Iffy has some hope, particularly if the series goes a bit longer. Without Franzen, Iffy is done.

4. The Best News - Three-timer is a playoff choker. He has been mathematically eliminated.

3 more games like last night would work fine.
