Anyone know what the NHLPA is reporting for Iginla? It seems like every year I find new and entertaining ways to screw this up.
Trevor is approximately $6.45M over the cap. I'll take about 90% responsibility for this. The rules as they currently stand make it nearly impossible to rectify this situation. What follows is the course of action:
1. Trevor will drop Smyth without penalty and pick-up one (1) non-rookie forward with 2007-2008 salary less than $1.05 M.
2. Barry will be given the opportunity to drop Bertuzzi without penalty and pick-up Smyth. No other pick-ups will be allowed. Barry was the only one with salary cap available to pick-up Smyth at this time. Bill, Kern, and Tim were close to having sufficient room after the errant Smyth pick, but not close enough.
Let's get this sorted out by Monday October 1 at 13:00.

gong!
tempting but, i'm gonna stick with the bert.
Don't worry greg; you can try to get it right next year! (its unlikely; this is more like tradition...) lol
I say do over.... everyone to Otterson's in an hour!!
No fair dropping Smyth and picking up a rookie probably makes Trevor's team better. I say we let him keep hairbag.
jk
Iffy,
I will drop Smyth and pickup Dan Cleary from Detroit. I believe he is 675,000 according to NHLPA.
I will let the season stand as is but I want it to be known that I am playing under protest
Thank you all. Special thanks to Howie. Carry on.
